Testosterone Therapy for Men
The drive that used to be automatic now takes effort to find. You are more tired than your sleep explains, your workouts pay off slower than they used to or not at all, and your interest in sex has quietly dropped. Maybe your mood is shorter, your focus thinner, and the weight settles around your middle no matter what you do. You have probably been told this is just getting older.
Low testosterone is real, and it is treatable. But how it is treated matters as much as whether it is treated at all. The storefront “low-T” clinics hand most men the same dose and an estrogen blocker and call it care. That is not how the body works, and it is not what we do.
AllureMD provides physician-led hormone optimization for men in Mississippi, founded by Dr. Lilian Massihi, MD and delivered by telehealth so you are seen from home. Every dose is decided by a physician and titrated to how you feel, not to a one-size protocol and not to what a reference range built on the average of a sick population is willing to call acceptable.

Signs your testosterone may be low
Low testosterone rarely shows up as one dramatic symptom. It is a gradual flattening you can rationalize one piece at a time until it adds up. The most common reasons men come to us:
- Low energy and stamina. A fatigue that rest does not resolve.
- Loss of drive and motivation. Not just at the gym, but in how you approach your day.
- Low libido and changes in sexual function. Desire and performance that have shifted. Weak or unsustainable erections.
- Loss of muscle and strength. Workouts that stop paying off the way they used to.
- Stubborn weight, especially around the middle. Visceral fat that builds even when your habits have not changed.
- Brain fog and low mood. Mental flatness, irritability, or a shorter fuse than the one you have always had.
These overlap with thyroid changes, sleep, stress, and metabolic shifts, which is why a single number rarely tells the whole story. Evaluating the full system is the point of how we care for you.
Why a physician, and not a storefront
This is where the difference is real, and it is worth understanding.
- We treat the whole system, not one number. Testosterone interacts with your thyroid, your metabolism, your sleep, and your stress hormones. Dr. Massihi evaluates the full picture before recommending anything, rather than reading one lab and handing you a vial.
- We do not reflexively block your estrogen. Testosterone naturally converts to a small amount of estrogen, and in men that estrogen protects your bones, your brain, your blood vessels and your heart and helps keep visceral fat down. The storefront model routinely adds an estrogen blocker to every man. We do not, because for most men that does more harm than good. We use it only in the specific cases that call for it.
- We give you real testosterone, not a workaround. When your own production has dropped and your receptors are fatigued, prescribing drugs that nudge your body to squeeze out a little more, just to make the numbers look better on paper, is tiptoeing around the problem. The strongest gain in how you feel comes from restoring real testosterone, so when the clinical picture calls for it, that is what we use. The one exception is fertility, addressed below, where preserving your own production is a deliberate goal, not a dodge.
- We monitor what matters, and we do not over-treat. Testosterone therapy can shift your PSA and raise your red blood cell count, so we follow your bloodwork and your prostate health properly. But a higher red blood cell count is often part of the benefit, more oxygen carried and more energy, rather than a problem in itself, so we do not reflexively draw blood off to bring it down the moment it rises. We track it and step in only when your levels genuinely call for it.
- We talk about fertility before we start. Testosterone therapy suppresses sperm production. If future fertility matters to you, that is a conversation we have up front, not one you discover later.
- Bioidentical, not synthetic. Structurally identical to the testosterone your body already makes.
- Physician-dosed. Dr. Massihi decides every dose. The pharmacy does not.
- Titrated to how you feel. We treat the man in front of us, not a lab printout.
- Steady, not a roller coaster. We aim for stable levels year-round rather than the peaks and crashes some approaches create.
What therapy actually looks like
There is no single right way to deliver testosterone, and the best route depends on you, your labs, and how you respond. Dr. Massihi chooses it with you, and there are good options beyond the ones most clinics default to. We will walk you through exactly how your therapy works, including how it is regulated, in your visit.
Therapy is not a single prescription you pick up and manage alone. It is dosed, monitored, and adjusted over time, with follow-up labs used to keep you safe and to guide changes. That is precisely why this belongs with a physician who stays with you rather than a protocol you get handed once.
Better together: care for the whole household
Hormonal change rarely happens to one person in a home alone. If your energy and drive have faded, there is a good chance your partner is navigating her own hormonal shift at the same time. AllureMD cares for both of you under one practice, with menopause and perimenopause treatment and testosterone therapy for women handled by the same physician who knows your whole picture. Many couples choose to be optimized together.
How it works
- Discovery call. A complimentary conversation to see if we are the right fit. No pressure, no obligation.
- Labs and intake. We look at the whole system, not one number, drawn close to home at a trusted, accredited laboratory. We tell you exactly what to test and when.
- Your plan. Dr. Massihi reviews your full hormonal picture and builds a personalized protocol around your symptoms and your goals.
- Guided adjustment. We adjust to how you feel and use follow-up labs to keep you safe and guide changes over time. You will understand every change and the reason for it.

Care that reaches you, in Mississippi
You do not have to find a practice that takes this seriously, and you do not have to lose a day to be seen for it. AllureMD is telehealth-first, so your visits happen from home, wherever you are in Mississippi. Your labs are drawn close to home at a trusted, accredited laboratory. This page is part of our broader hormone therapy in Mississippi practice, which cares for your entire hormonal system.
What this costs you, and what it does not
We are a direct-pay practice, and we are deliberately transparent about money, because the way most of medicine handles it is part of the problem. We do not mark up your medications. We do not profit from what we prescribe. We work with independent pharmacies, and we pass your labs through to you at the pricing we have negotiated on your behalf, at cost. We do not make a dollar on your prescriptions or your bloodwork, which keeps every recommendation about you and nothing else. We go over the specifics with you on your discovery call.
Frequently asked questions
Does testosterone therapy cause prostate cancer?
Current medical literature does not support the old belief that testosterone causes prostate cancer. In fact, low testosterone is associated with more aggressive prostate cancer. Testosterone therapy is not appropriate for a man with active prostate cancer, which is one reason Dr. Massihi reviews your history and monitors your PSA and prostate health throughout. Your individual risk is evaluated with you, not assumed.
Will I have to take an estrogen blocker?
No. Testosterone converts to a small amount of estrogen, and in men that estrogen is beneficial for your bones, brain, blood vessels, heart, sexual performance, and body composition. The storefront model adds a blocker to nearly everyone. We use an estrogen blocker, an aromatase inhibitor, only in the specific cases that genuinely call for it, never as a default.
Will testosterone therapy affect my fertility?
Yes, very likely. Testosterone therapy suppresses the body’s own sperm production. If future fertility matters to you, tell us up front, and we will factor it into your plan or discuss alternatives and a path forward if you are determined to protect it. We have this conversation before starting, not after.
How soon will I feel a difference?
It varies by person. Many men notice improvements in energy, mood, and motivation within the first few weeks. Changes in libido and sexual function tend to build over the first one to three months. Physical changes like strength and body composition take longer and depend on consistent use. This is therapy that is titrated and monitored over time, not a single quick prescription.
How is this different from a low-T clinic?
We are a physician-led practice, not a storefront protocol. We evaluate your whole hormonal system rather than one number, we do not reflexively block your estrogen, we monitor your bloodwork and prostate health properly, and we make no money on your medications or labs. We don’t rely on the pharmacy to determine what you need. Our only business is your care.
Do I have to live in Madison or Jackson to be a patient?
No. AllureMD is telehealth-first and serves the entire state of Mississippi. You are seen from home wherever you live, and your labs are drawn locally.
Will my insurance cover it?
We are a direct-pay practice, which is what keeps our advice conflict-free and our pricing honest. We walk you through exactly what membership includes and what it costs on your discovery call, with no surprises.
You do not have to accept a flatter, slower version of yourself, and you do not have to settle for a clinic that hands every man the same vial. If your energy, your drive, and your strength have faded and the only answer you have been given is your age, we can look properly at why.
